NaNoWriMo Kick Off

Happy second day of NaNo to all of those participating! This will be my fourth year participating. The first year I epically failed. I think I only wrote about 6,000 words total. The second year I kicked NaNo butt and ended up with 52,000 words. Last year I started off great but lost steam and there were a lot of personal things going on that made it tough to continue. So I'd classify last year as an epic fail as well.

HOWEVER THIS YEAR... I'm going full steam ahead even though I'm probably more busy now than I've ever been but I also haven't ever had an idea as good as the one I have this year. I'm so so so excited! I woke up early and started writing and by the end of day one I already had 5,000 words! Which is great because I know there are going to be some days I'm not able to get to my computer and even write 200 words. Use the time when you got it right?!

Because of the demands of NaNo and all of my other stuff I've decided to temporarily suspend my memes for this month. ( I know, you all are crying on the inside.) The only one I'm going to participate in this month is In My Mailbox. All memes will start back up in December on their usually post days of the week. This month will be chock full of writerly things, Nano and Reviews. I know from past experience just how stressful Nano is during this time of year, so I encourage any of you participating to leave a comment or friend me on NaNo! One of the easiest ways to get through the month with 50,000 words is SUPPORT! As a member of the book blogging is something we are good at right?! If you come across someone doing NaNo or even if you're doing it yourself...take a minute to appreciate the challenge and encourage a fellow writer!

I will leave you with some pictures that have inspired my story:

Just putting these pictures up here for you guys makes me SO excited about my story!! Please leave me a comment and let me know how your progress is coming along!!

Congrats on an awesome first day of NaNo! You rock.

After I'd already signed up for NaNo this year, I decided to opt out. Too much to do with this WIP to start something new. I'll be trying to do something NaNo-ish in December with a friend of mine, though.

Your word count is awesome! I logged 1958 yesterday, and have a big scene to work on today. Are we NaNo buddies? I don't think so. I'm Nicole Ducleroir over there. I agree with you, support is key during the crazy month of NaNo-November. Pass me along your NaNo alias and I'll add you to my list! Good luck!!

Yay! Just added you Nicole! Let the supporting begin! I'm seeing so many people with above average word counts lately...that is awesome for us Nanoers!

Good luck! NaNo never ended up being good timing for me, but I probably would epically fail anyway. I'm an epically slow writer. :)

Starting with a great and exciting idea is the best way to start, though. Looks like you're off and rolling!

One of these pictures is a dead ringer for something in one of my novels--the chest with the dozen of drawers! Awesome, so glad I found this. :)

Good luck with Nano!

I'm at 8103 words but am sick now so don't imagine I'll be writing for a couple days unless I can hop myself up on meds... :-(
