I was able to sneak a movie in today and it happened to be the much talked about Crazy Heart. I've heard both good and bad things about this movie. It's kind of funny because most of the people who didn't like it also don't like country music. Coincidence? Probably not. My dad who adamantly thinks every movie sucks actually liked this movie. I also think it had something to do with Jeff Bridges playing the main character. My dad really likes old western type of characters and Jeff Bridges character fits perfectly into that theme. Anyway, my own assessment of this movie was positive for the most part. I thought all the actors did a great job, I felt like the story was pretty realistic and could be the lives of many washed out country musicians. My only complaint came from the love scenes between Jeff Bridges and Maggie Gyllenhall. It was just awkward and weird. He looked way older than her, and it was just creepy that she had a 4 year old son and she was making love to an old guy. But that's just my opinion. Otherwise I really liked the movie and I think it was worth all the praise it has been getting. As a side note... Colin Farrell is gorgeous in this movie. Scrumptious really.
I decided I'm going to try to become more active in the blogosphere. Commenting, blogfests and contests. It was so hard with so much going on, now that I have a little bit more free time I can actually participate. Hope you all have a great weekend :)
**EDIT** There, I spent every spare minute at work and caught up on all 106 blogs that I'm following. If that's not dedication and loyalty...I don't know what is!!!
